The city of Irvine will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony in the formal garden of Col. Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park at 10 a.m. May 27.
Attendees can memorialize those who gave their lives in service by writing brief remembrances to be posted on a memory board at the event.
Cards also will be available to send messages of appreciation and support to members of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marines.
On May 26, a candle-lighting ceremony will be held in Northwood Community Park at the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial.
