The Los Angeles Rams are back at UC Irvine for 2018 Training Camp, with 13 practices scheduled through Aug. 16, open to the public. Schedule and details are available at TheRams. com/TrainingCamp.

If you plan to make it out to Crawford Field to watch the Super Bowl contenders in training, you might want to check out other fun things to do at UCI’s campus. Our five top picks:

1. Game on! at UCI Esports Arena (Student Center Terrace)
The first of its kind on a college campus, a gamer’s dream. Students, staff, faculty, alumni and guests can play the most popular games with top-of-the-line technology. $4 per hour; $36 for 10 hours. Hours: 12 p.m.–12 a.m. Mon–Sun. Closed University holidays and for occasional private events and programs.

2. Unwind at Anthill Pub & Grille (Student Center Terrace)
The only pub on campus offers craft beer, cider and wine. The burgers, fries (topped with cheese, beef and salsa) and carne asada tater tots are favorites among the young crowd. For vegans: hummus, veggie & potato burrito. Summer hours through August: 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon-Wed, 11 a.m.–10:30 p.m Th-Fri.

3. Free coffee for feedback at The Cove (Applied Innovation)
Every Wednesday morning, UCI Applied Innovation hosts “1 Million Cups,” open to the public. Free coffee, tea and a 6-minute startup presentation, followed by 20 minutes of audience feedback. 8–9 a.m. at 5141 California Ave.

4. Walk the Ring Road (Aldrich Park)

Modeled after New York City’s Central Park, the campus centerpiece has more than 11,000 trees and shrubs, including 33 species of eucalyptus.

5. Botanical beauty (UCI Arboretum)
South African plants were the initial focus in the 1970s. Today this garden at Campus Dr. and Jamboree Rd. bursts with diverse California habitats. To visit, schedule a guided tour by phone at 949-824-5833 or by email to Nursery Manager Rebecca Crowe rcrowe@uci.edu
