Veterans Day ceremony

Join your community in paying tribute to our nation’s troops – past and present – and in honoring local veterans, veterans groups, and military organizations at Irvine’s annual Veterans Day ceremony.

WHEN: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Nov. 11

WHERE: Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park (4 Civic Center Plaza)


Family hike

Enjoy an early evening family hike through the natural beauty of Irvine’s protected open space. Keep an eye out for red-tailed hawks and mule deer. The hike will average 3-4 miles round trip at an easy pace.

WHEN: 3-5 p.m. Nov. 9

WHERE: Black Star Canyon Wilderness Park


Full moon hike

Set out on a 3-mile hike through the protected lands of Limestone Canyon. Far from the glow of city lights, the group will discuss constellations visible in the night sky. The moon will light your path along Hicks Haul Road as you travel through coastal sage scrub in this dark canyon’s interior.

Musical comedy at the Barclay

See the 1970 award-winning musical comedy “Company,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. The original production was nominated for a record-setting 14 Tony Awards and won six. Presented by the UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts.
