Shop, dine and skate this holiday season at Irvine Spectrum Center

The holidays are here, and it’s finally time for sweaters, hot cocoa and even ice skating.

The holidays are here, and it’s finally time for sweaters, hot cocoa and even ice-skating. We’re blessed with lovely winters in Irvine, which means we can stroll through the Irvine Spectrum Center looking for the perfect gift under millions of festive lights and enjoy the many holiday activities available. Here are my top picks that are sure to brighten your spirits.

Ice skating under the stars

On Nov. 4, the Giant Wheel Court unveils the region’s most popular seasonal ice-skating rink. Families will circle the ice and create memories under glittering palm trees decorated with thousands of lights and the beautiful night sky above. The rink will be open through Jan. 8. The experience is $25 for adults, $21 for children and seniors and includes skate rentals.

Black Friday Frenzy

From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 25, Irvine Spectrum Center officially kicks off the holidays with a Black Friday Frenzy. The experience will include exclusive offers and live entertainment. Throughout the day, treat stations will offer shoppers holiday refreshments, such as cookies and hot cocoa. Performances will feature the rhythmic sounds of the Trash Can Trio, a holiday DJ and other visual spectacles, such as an artist creating an ice sculpture on-site.

75-foot holiday tree

In the evenings beginning on Nov. 25, the Irvine Spectrum Center’s ornately decorated 75-foot tree will come to life with a choreographed light show. The nighttime spectacular takes place every  30 minutes from 5 to 11 p.m. through Jan. 8.

Santa is back in town!

Children are invited to visit with Santa Claus Nov. 25 through Dec. 24. Photography packages start at $39.99. On Mondays, pet parents are encouraged to bring their four-legged loved ones to take professional pictures with Santa.

Capturing holiday memories

This year, Spectrum Center offers several ways to create photo memories with selfie stations and complimentary professional holiday photos.
