Irvine is home to a new Hyatt Regency, with room bookings available online starting Aug. 15.

The Hyatt Regency Irvine will open at the former site of Hotel Irvine, which was sold in 2022 to Chicago-based Hyatt Hotels Corp. Hyatt invested $50 million to renovate the 14-story property, located in the center of Irvine’s business district on Jamboree Road just north of I-405.

The redesigned 516-room hotel is Irvine’s largest by room count, and more than 170 guest rooms are part of the first opening phase. While the opening is scheduled for August, renovations are expected to continue through spring 2024. Upgrades include renovated guest rooms, enhanced outdoor areas, an artisanal marketplace and a new restaurant, according to Hyatt officials.

The renovation was led by Hyatt and architectural design firms Gensler and DLR.
