The Irvine Unified School District has been ranked the best large school district in California, according to the review site Niche.
The 2020-21 Best Schools in America report analyzed various factors, such as state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality and student life on campus.
IUSD, which serves more than 35,000 students, was ranked the highest in the state among districts with at least 15,000 students. It also was ranked as the No. 1 large district in safety and best teachers.
IUSD received the highest A-plus grades in academics, teachers, college prep, and health and safety.
