The history of Manassero Farms dates back to 1922, when James Manassero migrated from Italy and began farming in Orange County. The farm is still going strong, run by James’ grandson Dan and his wife, Anne, in Irvine.
“It is with great pride that we are third-generation family farmers in business for 100 years in Orange County,” Anne Manassero says.
Manassero Farms used to sell produce to major grocery chains, such as Whole Foods, across the country and overseas to Europe and Japan. Now, they focus on selling directly to residents at four farm stands – two on Jeffrey Road – and online.
The Manasseros will celebrate their 100th anniversary with an all-day, open-farm party March 29, when their popular strawberries will be in full season. Guests can sample specialty foods and recipes made with fresh produce.
