Irvine grad launches career at Disney

Cecilia Mou, a 2022 Portola High graduate, was among nine U.S. college students awarded a Television Academy Foundation paid internship at a top Hollywood studio – in her case a Disney studio.

Mou is now working in production management at Disney Branded Television, which develops content for Disney+, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD.

“Receiving this honor has been absolutely thrilling and validating,” says Mou, a USC sophomore majoring in film and television production. “Being recognized in this way is so encouraging toward my pursuit of a career in television.”

The Television Academy Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving television’s legacy and educating new generations of industry professionals. The foundation’s internship program provides students with hands-on work experience, mentorships and opportunities in more than 30 industry disciplines.
