More than 650 residents came together for Citywide Serve Day, organized by the nonprofit Love Irvine in collaboration with the city. Attendees gathered at Heritage Park Community Center before dispersing to nearly 30 service locations, lending their hands to support local causes.

Volunteers helped make sandwiches for food-insecure families, created rice sock warmers for animals at a local shelter and made blankets for the city-adopted 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines. They also worked at Second Harvest Food Bank, sorted donations at Families Forward and South County Outreach and created care cards for cancer patients.

“It brings me great joy, and I feel privileged to offer this to the community,” says Curtis Drever, president of Love Irvine.
