Running for a cure

The Reaching for the Cure Half Marathon takes place Sunday, March 24, at Irvine Valley College.

The event is hosted by Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, an Irvine-based nonprofit aiming to raise $750,000 from participants and their supporters. Donations and a portion of registration fees will help provide grants to research centers and hospitals, including Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

Registered runners will receive a personal fundraising webpage and toolkit. The event, which also features 10K, 5K and 1K Kids Fun Run races, is held in honor of cancer patients and survivors, drawing runners and walkers from all across Southern California.
