UC Irvine is harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to foster collaboration and boost research.

The university recently launched ZotGPT Chat, a customized generative AI tool that is available to faculty and staff.

The first of its kind in the UC system, the new tool can be used on mobile devices for teaching, research and streamlining work processes while protecting the confidentiality of personal and institutional data, according to university officials. It is expected to be available to students later this year.

Future ZotGPT Chat updates will have new features that include image generation, along with custom chatbots using departmental data and websites.

The launch of ZotGPT Chat coincides with a campus-wide education campaign boosting AI literacy among faculty and staff.
