1. Contemporary dance

Parsons Dance, one of the world’s most dynamic contemporary dance companies, brings its signature athleticism and artistry to Irvine. Founded by David Parsons and Tony Award-winning lighting designer Howell Binkley, the company is known for bold ensemble work and stunning choreography. 8 p.m. April 17, thebarclay.org


2. Egg-a-POOL-Looza

Dive into a poolside egg hunt, family splash time, Easter Bunny photos, bounce houses and more at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center. Tickets are $12 for children 14 and younger. 1-5 p.m. April 5, registration required at yourirvine.org


3. Strawberry picking

Join a guided tractor ride, strawberry and vegetable picking and a visit to the barnyard animals at Tanaka Farms this spring. Tours last 45 minutes to an hour. Reservations are required. tanakafarms.com


4. Boots & Brews

Experience the Boots & Brews Country Music Festival at the Great Park Live amphitheater, featuring Jake Owen, Jerrod Niemann and Raelynn. Enjoy live country music, cold beer and good friends. 5-10 p.m. April 11, bootsandbrews.com


5. Easter Eggstravaganza

Usher in spring at Irvine Park Railroad with Easter egg hunts, train rides and photos with the Easter Bunny. Admission is free, with activity tickets available for purchase. Open every day through April 19, irvineparkrailroad.com


6. Open space celebration

Celebrate Irvine’s wilderness with a free pancake breakfast, family activities and a scenic hike on April 19. Hosted by the city of Irvine, Irvine Ranch Conservancy and Irvine Company, the event begins at 9 a.m., with a guided hike at 10:30 a.m. Quail Hill Trailhead, cityofirvine.org


7. Jazz in the Palm Court

Take in live jazz at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex as part of a special three-part music series. No registration is needed – just bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the show. 1-3 p.m. April 19, 949‑724‑6247

10. Kidstock Music Festival

Get ready to rock, roll, sway, sing and bop at Kidstock Music & Arts Festival at Pretend City Children’s Museum. There will be live performances, dance sessions
