Orchard Hills robotics team honored

Five Orchard Hills Middle School students recently earned international recognition at the 2025 VEX V5RC World Championship in Dallas. The RoboHawks 8838D team of Carlos Alarilla, Edison Chen, Priyaan Chudgar, Tyler Lee and Arvin Zhou earned the title of World Finalist after winning their division under coach Kevin Kim’s guidance.

Orchard Hills has become a powerhouse in the robotics world, helping lead the rise of Tustin Unified School District’s award-winning program. What began in 2014 as a small summer academy class has grown into a districtwide initiative involving 600 students across all 65 schools.
