Irvine is the happiest city in Southern California, according to WalletHub’s annual “Happiest Cities in America” ranking.
The personal finance website compared 182 of the nation’s largest cities using 29 measures of happiness, organized into three categories: emotional and physical well-being; income and employment; and community and environment. The study looks at factors such as depression rates, income growth, job satisfaction and average daily leisure time.
Irvine ranked No. 8 overall nationwide. The city also placed second in the nation for the lowest separation and divorce rate and scored highly in measures tied to emotional and physical well-being.
