Summer 2026 has been a boon for Irvine in terms of grabbing attention on a national scale. A music festival late this month promises to solidify that status.
To start World Cup excitement, more than 33,000 people sought tickets to be among the 5,500 fans to welcome the U.S. men’s national team in June to Championship Stadium at Great Park, where the team practiced for its run in the tournament. “The environment and facilities are amazing,” coach Mauricio Pochettino told the crowd. “It’s more than we expected.”
Great Park will have the opportunity to impress thousands more on Aug. 29 during Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival, a female-focused, daylong series of concerts featuring Rodrigo, plus Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, Chappell Roan, Garbage, Doechii, Bikini Kill, Mitski, KATSEYE and more.

The event, which sold out in less than 30 minutes, will also feature immersive art spaces, educational resources, a marketplace of handcrafted and local goods and more. Proceeds from the festival will go to charities dedicated to advocating for women and girls. “All of the incredible artists who are on the bill are doing it for free for charity,” Rodrigo said.
During a June appearance on “Good Morning America,” Rodrigo said she had been inspired by McLachlan and her Lilith Fair in the 1990s. “She’s a total trailblazer and an incredible artist and a friend,” Rodrigo said, “and she’s actually going to sing at the festival with me, too, which is really exciting and a big honor for me.”
The event will use Great Park Live and additional park space where the main stage will be built to welcome up to 45,000 fans.
