Kathryn Kanjo has been appointed museum director of the UC Irvine Langson Orange County Museum of Art, marking a key leadership step for the recently merged institution that now anchors a major public art presence for Orange County residents.
The museum was formed through UC Irvine’s acquisition of the Orange County Museum of Art, uniting three California art collections into a single, free-admission museum with expanded academic integration and public programming. Together, the collections comprise more than 9,000 works spanning California impressionism and modern and contemporary California art.
Kanjo previously served as director and CEO of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
