University High’s boys soccer team brought home the CIF State Division IV crown with a 3-2 victory over Del Mar in the final. It capped a memorable postseason run for the top-seeded Trojans, who also won the CIF State SoCal Regional championship and CIF Southern Section Division 4 title.
Goalkeeper Lucca Clouthier notched his 17th victory of the season and gave up only five goals in the nine playoff games.
“This year’s CIF title was only the second in school history for both boys and girls,” says coach Martin Wallwork, who was also the coach for the first one in 2018.
