Irvine’s Architect
LA County’s unbridled growth may have continued through the Irvine Ranch if not for world-renowned architect William Pereira. Pereira was commissioned by the University of California and Irvine Company to design a bold Master Plan for the 93,000 acre Ranch. Pereira’s Master Plan envisioned a new university surrounded by a “city of intellect.”
He created the Master Plan as a road map, capable of adapting to ensure Irvine grew and matured as the times dictated.
