The Irvine Police Department will host its annual National Night Out on Aug. 6, when residents can get a glimpse of what goes into policing America’s safest city.

The Irvine Police Department will host its annual National Night Out on Aug. 6, when residents can get a glimpse of what goes into policing in America’s safest city.

Events include a bike rodeo, electric-bike demonstration, K-9 dogs, motorcycles, squad cars, firetrucks and Irvine’s police horses and riders.

The annual tradition, celebrated nationwide, takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in three Irvine locations: Cypress Community Park, 255 Visions (the horses will be here); University Community Park, 1 Beech Tree Lane; and the Ranch Neighborhood Park, 5161 Royale Ave.
