Healthy dessert? Try a vegan soft-serve

Pressed Juicery’s revolutionary plant-based soft-serve is made from real fruits, nuts and vegetables and features several flavors, including chocolate, strawberry and vanilla.

One of my favorite places to grab breakfast or lunch is a juice bar.

The only downside is that there’s often a long line of customers waiting for their order as blenders whir away.

Pressed Juicery at Spectrum Center is different. All of the drinks are pre-pressed and bottled for the day and chilling in a fridge behind the counter.

And when I say drinks, I mean meals.

Take the Sweet Greens, a 45-calorie concoction of cucumbers, celery, spinach, natural monk fruit sweetener and lemon. That would be lunch.

There are seven Green Juices to choose from. Three Root Juices (Roots 1 with beets and carrots is my fave). And four fancy Lemonades, including a mango with the anti-inflammatory turmeric.

For something more substantial, try the thick and creamy house-made chocolate almond milk, sweetened with dates and cacao nibs.

If you can’t bring yourself to drink your meals, Pressed Juicery also sells several bowls made with a base of acai, oat milk and coconut cream that have been blended to the consistency of an icy cool sherbet. Toppings range from bananas and coconut to granola and honey.

Pressed Juicery also has a line of Wellness Shots in mini bottles. Try the Probiotic Shot (red cabbage, apple and ginger) to support good digestion.

For a lactose-free choice, try a cup of its Vegan Soft-Serve Freeze, “a revolutionary plant-based soft-serve made from real fruits, nuts and vegetables,” in chocolate, strawberry or vanilla.
