Vista Verde School has been named a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School, considered the nation’s highest honor for public and private schools.

Only 367 schools in the country — 36 in California and five in Orange County — earned the U.S. Department of Education designation. “Our staff and families should all be extremely proud of our hard work, innovative teaching and dedication,” Vista Verde Principal Jerry Vlasic says. “It’s a tribute to our teachers and staff for their commitment to our students.”

This is Irvine Unified School District’s 19th Blue Ribbon School dating back to the start of the federal program in 1983.
