What’s your workout?

We asked Jasmeet Singh, owner of AKT fitness studio at The Market Place, to give us tips on how to stay fit outside.

I love to take a brisk walk every morning – it really gets my heart pumping and releases endorphins. And with so many beautiful parks in Irvine, I like to stop for a few yoga stretches in this natural setting.

One of my favorite parks is William Mason Regional because of its beautiful trails and wide lawns shaded by trees.

I start by warming up my body and increasing my heart rate to 115 beats per minute. (I wear an Apple Watch to monitor.) Then I find a nice, shady spot to relax and do some yoga.

I recommend building a routine. Here’s one to try.
