The annual ranking is based on employee input, benefits and employee retention. Some of Irvine’s employers, like AI chipmaker Syntiant, were celebrated for unique perks, such as unlimited paid time off. City of Hope was selected, in part, for its commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Irvine was planned as a jobs hub and has a near-perfect 1-to-1 jobs-to-residents ratio.
