Gyutan Ramen, an authentic ramen shop that recently opened at University Center, is gaining rave reviews.
“More than a half dozen additional ramen shops have opened in Orange County in the past six months, and the most impressive of this new crop is Gyutan Ramen in Irvine’s University Center,” writes Orange County Register food critic Brad A. Johnson.
Johnson praises the restaurant’s broth, noodles and curry, among other things.
“We don’t take shortcuts,” says Chef Jon Kim, business partner with owner Jerry Lu (who also runs DelSushi at University Center). “We take care and pride in cooking our broths to bring out the most umami for our customers.”
