Five ways to fill your holidays with fun

1. Odyssey VR

The future of arcades is here, at Irvine Spectrum Center’s Odyssey VR. Slide on some VR goggles, buckle into your moveable seat and experience a virtual roller coaster, downhill ski run and other thrills. Or choose from a host of immersive VR games.

2. Dave & Buster’s

Looking to host a private party for family and friends this holiday season? Book a private room with chef-crafted food and drinks. Or stop by any time for dinner, drinks and hundreds of arcade games – from classics like Pac-Man to the latest Top Gun: Maverick virtual reality game.

3. Regal

Catch blockbusters like “Avatar: The Way of Water” (opens Dec. 16) – sequel to the highest-grossing film of all time – and Disney’s animated adventure “Strange World.” Or revisit holiday classics like “Elf” (Dec. 10-11), “The Polar Express” (Dec. 17-18) and “It’s a Wonderful Life” (Dec. 18 and 21).

4. Improv

More than 35 years after the Irvine Improv opened with an up-and-coming comedian named Jerry Seinfeld, it remains America’s most successful Improv comedy club. This month, see Mike Epps, who is producing and starring in the Netflix comedy “The UpShaws,” perform Dec. 16-18.

5. The Escape Game

Pick your theme, from a 1950s prison to a gold-rush cabin, then follow clues to make your escape. “My family of five does escape rooms every Sunday across Southern California and Las Vegas,” says elite Yelper Tony S. “The Escape Game Irvine is by far my favorite.”
