Out-of-the-booth business secrets from Irvine’s top Girl Scout Cookie entrepreneur

Over the past seven years, she has sold an astounding total of 35,913 boxes.

What does it take to be Irvine’s leading Girl Scout cookie sales pro, year after year?

For Miley Galmarini, 16, it has meant acquiring confidence, learning entrepreneurial skills, and relying on extraordinary support from her parents. “My mom really encouraged me to talk to everyone, and that made me able to sell a lot of cookies,” Miley says. “As I continued to grow older, I got less shy and was able to sell a lot more.”

Over the past seven years, she has sold an astounding total of 35,913 boxes.

“Starting from when I was just 7, people would give me their business cards and say they wanted me to come work with them,” she says.

Her expert salesmanship supports some good causes. One-hundred percent of cookie revenues fund Orange County Scouts’ activities, while customers can also donate cookies to the military and the Second Harvest Food Bank.

During this year’s selling season, which ends in early March, Miley aims to prioritize schoolwork and water polo, while lowering her expectations to a mere 1,000 boxes. After all, she’ll soon be applying to college, where she’s thinking of studying business.
