Sierra Vista students win Science Olympiad

Students from Sierra Vista Middle School recently won the state Science Olympiad Championship Tournament – earning the title of Southern California Science Olympiad Champions for the third consecutive time.

Students from Sierra Vista Middle School recently won the state Science Olympiad Championship Tournament – earning the title of Southern California Science Olympiad Champions for the third consecutive time.

Held in April at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, the tournament featured student teams from across the state competing in events related to science, technology and engineering.

In the tournament’s high school division, teams from Northwood and University high schools placed second and third, respectively.

The Sierra Vista team is made up of 19 students, and, with the victory, they will compete in the Science Olympiad National Tournament this month at Michigan State University.
