Irvine has been named the least-stressed city in Southern California and ranks as the fourth-least-stressed city nationwide, according to WalletHub’s 2025 “Most & Least Stressed Cities in America” study. The personal finance website analyzed more than 180 cities across 39 key metrics. Irvine ranked within the top 20 in all four major categories of the study: work stress, financial stress, family stress and health and safety. In the health and safety category, the city placed second in the nation – reflecting its low crime rates and access to health care.
