Irvine’s Google internet gets upgrade

Many Irvine residents can now access faster web speeds through new internet plans from GFiber, formerly known as Google Fiber. The company brings its newest system to the city, introducing Wi-Fi 7 equipment built to let multiple devices stream video at the same time without freezing or slowing down. The new options more than double the speeds widely available across much of the city.

Plans include a basic 1-gigabit speed for $70 a month, a 3-gigabit plan made for busy families for $100 a month and a 5-gigabit plan for creative professionals and heavy tech users at $150 a month. The higher-speed choices come with professional setup and special routers to help the wireless signal cover the whole house.
