One of those medical innovators is Edwards Lifesciences, a pioneer in heart valve and other groundbreaking medical technologies. The company celebrates its 60th anniversary this year

Since its founding in 1958, Edwards Lifesciences products have helped treat and manage the health of millions of people. The company is a global leader in the science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring. Each year, over 300,000 people around the world undergo heart valve replacements.

A company with a heart for the community

With 4 ,000 employees in Irvine, Edwards officials say they are dedicated to helping patients and neighbors live better, more productive lives. From Orange County United Way to the American Heart Association’s local chapter, company employees actively participate in philanthropic endeavors, hiking and cycling groups, and intramural sports.

One million-person goal

Through their Every Heartbeat Matters initiative, Edwards employees have committed to reducing, by the year 2020, the global burden of heart valve disease by supporting the education, screening and treatment of one million people.
