Shoreline Fishing

When: 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Fridays-Sundays

Details: Fish along 2 miles of shoreline for a trophy bass, catfish or bluegill.

Wilderness Access Day: Black Star Canyon

When: Saturday, Nov. 2

Details: Black Star Canyon offers introductory trails for beginner hikers and families as well as challenging experiences for seasoned trail users. It includes stunning vistas of Irvine Lake and diverse flora and fauna. (Note: 12 years and older)

Irvine Mud Run

When: Saturday, March 14

Details: Get down and dirty at Irvine Lake for Orange County’s only mud run. The approximately 3.5-mile run through mud and obstacles is a great way to enjoy Irvine Lake in a unique and messy way.

Over the Hump Bike Race Series

When: Tuesday nights during summer

Details: A “mountain bike race for everyone,” Over the Hump offers weekly races for ages ranging from 6 to 75+. The 12-race series traverses Irvine Lake and provides an incredible atmosphere to experience Irvine Ranch open space.
