Hyatt invests $50 million in former Hotel Irvine

Hyatt will spend $50 million to renovate the former Hotel Irvine and reopen it as Hyatt Regency Irvine later this year.

Hyatt purchased Hotel Irvine last year. The 14-story hotel is located just off I-405 at Jamboree Road.

Hotel Irvine consisted of 541 rooms, making it the largest hotel in Irvine by room count and eighth largest in Orange County, according to the Orange County Business Journal.

“The Hyatt Regency Irvine acquisition last year, and the planned capital investment, provides us with strategic distribution in an important market,” Hyatt Chief Financial Officer Joan Bottarini said. “We look forward to welcoming guests for a spectacular reopening this fall.”
