An ancient Japanese comfort food beloved across the globe is now available at University Center’s Tenori restaurant.

Tenori specializes in handcrafted onigiri, a simple, handheld meal made from white rice formed into triangular or cylindrical shapes and wrapped in dried seaweed. Also known as rice balls in the U.S., they’re filled with salmon, tuna and other salty or sour ingredients – and have been popular in Japan for thousands of years.

Tenori also serves musubi, the similar Hawaiian snack that has boomed in popularity in the U.S., and fresh poke. Tenori is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
