Irvine climbed to No. 3 in WalletHub’s annual “Happiest Cities in America” ranking, up two spots from last year and scoring highest among Southern California cities. WalletHub’s study analyzed 29 factors across the nation’s 180 largest cities, including income growth, leisure time and well-being. Irvine stands out with the third-lowest separation and divorce rate in the nation as well as the third-highest percentage of adults reporting “good or better” health. Nearly 84% of Irvine residents participate in physical activities, and the city boasts the nation’s seventh-highest life expectancy.
