Irvine and Spectrum top ‘Best of OC’ list

Orange County Register readers have named Irvine the best city to live in for the sixth consecutive year.

Orange County Register readers have named Irvine the best city to live in for the sixth consecutive year. The Register’s annual “Best of Orange County” edition awarded a total of 14 “Best Of” awards to Irvine, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

“As we reflect on our past, we recognize that what makes Irvine so special isn’t how we have changed, but how we have remained committed to the principles of Irvine’s Master Plan,” Mayor Farrah N. Khan told the Register. “The vision established 50 years ago has ensured Irvine is a safe city with outstanding schools and higher education institutions, beautiful parks and a wealth of jobs, shopping and dining.”

Irvine Spectrum Center was named Orange County’s No. 1 shopping-dining destination, with popular attractions that include the Apple Store, Javier’s Cantina & Grill, Irvine Improv and Regal Irvine Spectrum. Other No. 1 rankings include Irvine Farmers Market, 85ºC Bakery Cafe (at Spectrum Center) and Sgt. Pepperoni’s Pizza Store (in University Center).
